Some of you know me, some of you don't but all of you can possibly offer me some valuable information.
Ladies and gentlemen, today I come to you with a very tiring conundrum. I just finished my high school and I face the scary decision of figuring out what to do. I don't want to decide, more importantly I don't like the decisions that have been made on my behalf. My father is a lawyer and he has his own firm (pretty good practice), my brother (he is a hard worker) works there as well and my mother was a financial adviser till.... till she became my mother I guess. I am expected to follow in their footsteps and I don't think I want to.
The reason is quite simple I don't enjoy the lawyer'ing business or finance, its not particularly entertaining. Don't suggest cc fraud/skimming/anything, rec drugs or anything illegal.
I am thinking of delaying my decision and just go somewhere for awhile but I don't think anyone (my family) will appreciate that move. What do you think I should do? I am hoping someone will point out something I missed / am not seeing.
Things I enjoy: sex, escorts (doh!), partying, C once in awhile, reading, thinking, and generally having a good time.
Things I don't enjoy: annoying people, interacting with said people, rat racing, boring things, "working" and ugly women.
I eagerly await your response, thank you.

become a male prostitute, I figure since you like sex so much its the ideal profession and not to mention the "having a good time" and free coke.

In the ideal world what would you be doing? You'd be a lawyer? A financier? A big boss or a male escort? :mosking: I am not kidding.

this has been weighing down on me heavily. so thank you for trying to help.

I don't think I would enjoy being a subservient prostitute. My ego would not allow it.
lol. very HARD decisions indeed.
Pun noticed.

Good question. In an ideal world? I'd be happy and I would never be bored. Maybe a warrior, a pirate, some where I get to be violent and enjoy the fruits of my labor. I don't know. thank you very much.
now that is funny.
yes. very.

I know leaving your mark on the world doesn't seem that big a deal but you will be thoroughly bored if you don't. I speak from personal experience as I was in your exact same position and I almost went the other route. Coasting off your parents is fun till you get bored and believe me you will get bored (if you aren't already).
When I was 23 I had this choice and I didn't feel any urge to do anything. I was bored in 3 months and I jumped at the chance to set up my own shop (for this I had to train under someone, then toil, and then triumph. Its not a bad feeling as I am sure you know.) eventually it grew to a point where I had a constant supply of entertainment (it kept me engaged, I was involved in it, I bled for it, and I loved it; probably what how Dad felt like when he created his firm.), and then when it started to look like it would bore me I started another company (more in-tune with my artistic taste).
Being engaged is the real fun. Besides your parents won't give you the better share of your inheritance if you aren't already doing well :secret:. So go out there and plant your mark on this world.

It does look appealing, to be honest. But you're right, I hate being bored.

So you're a lord of the rats but you still seem to be running to keep the boredom at bay. That is something I worry about.

Doing things to distract myself sounds like the only option here and while I am at it why not be productive? hm.... thank you.

Honestly? You think my dad would short change me just cause? It doesn't matter. Thank you very much Lucas, you've given me a lot to think about and you've clarified a great deal of information for me. It really does help me, thank you. I am on the verge of deciding and it looks like I'll be (/ have to) go for it.

you're are fucking lucky, just like Lucas. My daddy didn't give me the keys to the kingdom, I was disowned and I had to fend for myself. instead of wondering if I wanted to play I was thrust in to the game, I had to sleep with old(er) women for money (crying out loud!!!)! so consider yourself fortunate to have to make this decision.

when you say it like that you make it sound so déclassé. I didn't have a choice, that is the point.

why didn't you have a choice? you said your father disowned you but that really isn't a reason to become a gigolo. how did it happen?

I was never a gigolo. this is beyond the scope of our discussion so lets not get in to it.

you are persistent. I had a falling out with my parents for several reasons, I got disowned and I was all alone. Running low on cash, I stumbled up on an opportunity but I needed about 450,000 dollars which I didn't have handy thus I had to find an investor who'd invest in me (I didn't have a track record, it was the first time) and to make this person invest I had to enter in a mutually beneficial relationship. This investor happened to be a woman of advanced age.
The investment worked. Back then cold, alone and without a home I decided I wouldn't settle for it. I would do whatever it would take to ensure my survival with the highest level of comfort. I made a promise to myself and I feel that I kept it.
